This Los Angeles Chiropractor Knows How to Keep Her Patients Well

The EZC Pak team sits down with Los Angeles-based chiropractor Dr. Ciara Cappo to discuss her practice, wellness, and life in LA. She tells us about how she found her calling, and how she keeps her patients feeling great year-round.

How did you discover your path as a chiropractor? How did you know it was your perfect job?

Interestingly enough, I started out believing I wanted to be a pharmacist. I was completing my Bachelor’s degree, and had been working as a pharmacy technician for four years! So my plan was to go to pharmacy school. But my senior year of college, something changed. I didn’t want to be a pharmacist anymore.

When I graduated, I worked as a phlebotomist and client services representative for a large diagnostic laboratory. I was quite happy: I travelled to senior living homes, collected samples, then returned with them to the main laboratory for processing.

While working at this job, I happened to meet a chiropractor at my local yoga studio. She performed a spinal screening on me and invited me to her office for a consultation. After my first few treatments, it became clear: I wanted to be a chiropractor, too.

Fast-forward to today, and tell me about your practice. What’s your specialty? What does a regular day look like?

I have a private practice in West Los Angeles.

I specialize in sports injuries and musculoskeletal maintenance for active individuals. I’m also a healthcare provider on the USA Volleyball Medical Team, so I work with professional, elite athletes when they are in competition.

On a regular day, I see about 10 patients. I accept PPO insurance.

What do you love most about practicing – and living – in Los Angeles?

I love the open-mindedness of the population here. Most people are very aware of their health and their physical well-being.

What is the most challenging aspect of your job? And the most rewarding?

Being my own boss and my own employee is so difficult – and so amazing, too. But ultimately, I love it. I get to help so many people feel great. That’s very meaningful.

What do you feel are the benefits of chiropractic treatment? How do you think it impacts lives?

For me, chiropractic treatment is all about a general improvement in well-being. When I first started seeing a chiropractor, before I became one, I didn’t have any real complaints or ailments. But I still saw an improvement in my life! I had more energy throughout the day, I slept better, I had more stamina when I exercised. I want to share these benefits with my clients.

Yes, chiropractic care offers pain relief – but it also does so much for a body that’s doing just fine!

It’s cold and flu season. What are you doing to stay healthy?

I drink plenty of water and loads of green tea. I make sure I’m getting enough sleep. And, of course, I wash my hands after I see each patient. I am also careful to disinfect our office space. Lastly, I make sure I am eating healthy foods!

Yes! What’s your go-to fall lunch these days?

Hmmm… definitely a warm salad or a hearty soup.

You’ve been a great fan of EZC Pak for a while now. How does a product like EZC Pak help your patients?

Patients often come to me because they are looking for a more natural approach to their issues and symptoms. EZC Pak fits right in! Sometimes, they’ve never heard of the product, and I get to share it with them. I’m really excited about this product because it’s so convenient and it combines three great supplements! It’s amazing!

Dr. Ciara Cappo runs her own chiropractic practice in West Los Angeles. You can learn more about her and her practice on her website.
